Our Story
The Sean Moon Band has been capturing the hearts of crowds in Colorado for four years. The opportunity to open for artists like Scotty McCreary, Granger Smith, Dillon Scott, Love and Theft, Rodney Atkins, and the Headliner for the official kick-off party at Country Jam 2022. Sean started playing music in church. Growing up as a pastor's son Sean was always around music and quickly learned to play guitar and sing. With a passion for music and bringing a one-of-a-kind experience, Sean teamed up with his friends to form the Sean Moon Band. A huge turning point was when Ty Morgan from one of the largest radio stations in Western Colorado, Moose Country, asked Sean to play for local events. Now with a team of his friends, Mat Dickey on Bass, Ben Chacon on Piano, Trey Stadelman on Drums, Steven Evens on Acoustic Guitar, and Tyler Schaffer on Lead Guitar. We bring a unique experience that everyone should be a part of!
BAND BIOS

Has been in love with music from a very early age. From his diaper sing-a-longs in his childhood home to his vocal performance and music engineering degree. Mat first fell in love with the saxophone taking after his grandfather. In high school, the jazz band lost their bass player, and Mat jumped to take his place. Taking the summer to teach himself. Mat's a multi-instrument musician, but bass will always be his first choice. If you listen closely to his bass lines, you will find inspiration from Jazz, Funk, and Rock.

Steven Evans
Acoustic Guitar
Steven Evans has been emersed in music from a young age. From his start in a church children’s choir to a household grounded in country music, he found a perfect median in both genres. Steven leaned on music as a crutch coming out of high school and started to pursue music more seriously in college. From playing worship and country music in his dorm room to getting an opportunity to lead worship at a local church in Grand Junction, he began to meet people who had similar music goals. Through his time leading, Steven was introduced to the Sean Moon Band and has now continued his musical journey with the band for three years with no end in sight.

Tyler Schaffer
Lead Guitar
Tyler Schaffer is a country music guitarist with a lifelong passion for playing guitar. He draws inspiration from a wide range of musicians, including Ry Cooder, Lowell George, Albert Lee, Steve Gaines, Waylon Jennings, JJ Cale, and Cornell Dupree, to shape his sound and play style. Outside of music, he studied Computer Information Systems at Colorado Mesa University and is passionate about using data to uncover insights and solve complex problems. Tyler is committed to creating great music and sharing his sound with anyone willing to listen.

Ben Chacon
Piano
Ben is a Grand Valley native and plays piano, slide, and almost anything else the band throws at him. His musical journey began at six when he first learned to play the piano. As he got older, he discovered a passion for folk music sparked by his sister introducing him to the genre. Since then, Ben has begun to explore other styles of music and found ways to bring his passion to a live setting.
